This year on Diwali, Annakshetra drove a special drive wherein it focused on collection of sweets. It was envisaged that huge quantity of sweets are received in a particular section of houses from various sources while there are few who doesn’t even get a chance to taste the same. Hence Annakshetra team went to all individuals whom they perceived will fall in “huge” section and ensured that they pledge to donate all kind of surplus sweets. A pledge certificate was designed and drafted for the occasion. This drive was well taken by all sections and got tremendous support from the masses. Even ministers in state government personally rang up Annakshetra and donated sweets for poor. Annakshetra now plans to push this drive further and replicate in all future festivals
